Secret Bush Fans Revealed

We may finally be getting an answer to the mystery of the source of all those Bush voters who came out of the woodworks on Election Day. According to a story that appeared in today's Boston Globe, some recently-released French reporters who had been held hostage in Iraq for four months reported in Le Figaro that their militant captors told them that they had been hoping for Bush's re-election. One of the reporters, Georges Malbrunot, quoted one of the captors as having said, "We want Bush because with him the American troops will stay in Iraq and that way we will be able to develop."

Perhaps some of these militants had been able to secure voter registration forms and absentee ballots. That would be one explanation for why Bush was able to roll to victory notwithstanding the fact that all of the exit polls had him losing.

Remember when some guy on Fox News commented that Bin Laden was wearing a Kerry button during his last videotape? I guess Fox just misread the name on the button.

By the way, so far as I can tell, this story was not reported in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Ain't the liberal media grand?

Merry Christmas to all readers! (The subject of a future blog.)
